The impact of personality traits on interpersonal dynamics at zero acquaintance

The current study aimed to examine the relationship between personality traits and interpersonal states. Eighty undergraduate participants were administered trait inventories, then 40 dyads video recorded doing collaborative tasks. These recordings coded for moment-to-moment communion agency using Continuous Assessment of Interpersonal Dynamics. Actor-Partner Interdependence Modeling was used understand impact on dynamics (average, variability, slope, complementarity communion). results showed that there no relationships dynamics. There two main limitations may explain these results. First, behavior have been influenced more by social norms be friendly take turns than traits, especially in this “strong situation”.
